How about we list the pitfalls, with examples etc, on this page? --81.230.12.10 08:38, 28 March 2007 (EDT)

Do we have a license to reproduce that article? And either way, I think this page itself being a portal would be good. If we do (reproduce that article), it should get its own page, and be linked to here. Arantius 22:03, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

I don't think we should reproduce it -- I think it'd be very helpful to just summarize the actual pitfalls/gotchas, without the history lesson. The article is a pleasant read but not so great as a reference. Would we need permission to summarize the pitfalls, if we didn't reproduce the article word-by-word? I'm not sure I agree about putting them on their own page. Seems like the usability mistake of organizing stuff by how it works internally (where we got the info from) rather than by how people'd use it (one page to list gotchas). --81.230.12.10 04:45, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Read through it again -- wasn't as wordy as I recalled. I suppose it does work as a reference, if one starts reading at page 3. Still, I think including the information on this wiki and then linking to the article for more background would be nice. And I still feel we should list them alongside any other gotchas, not on a separate page. --81.230.12.10 04:54, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

I vote strongly for removing the "When using GM_xmlhttpRequest or setTimeout, variables change before the callback runs" section to the [GM_xmlhttpRequest] page. With a shorter title. Arantius 22:03, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

I agree about shortening the title, but I think it makes more sense as a Troubleshooting item. If it's moved, I think it should be linked from here. I don't think it should be moved, though. --81.230.12.10 04:40, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
